DeeCee's humour is inspired from his observations living as a black Canadian/US expatriate in Southeast Asia. He has successfully woven his unique observations on social issues, racial identity, relationships, aging, parenting, and career as a chiropractic physician into a twisted, yet relatable, brand of funny.

DeeCee's stand-up comedy journey started 1998. He navigated his way through the Toronto comedy scene, paying his dues until earning a spot as finalist in the 2000 'Toronto's Funniest Comedian' contest at The Laugh Resort. Following an 18 year hiatus from stand-up (marriage, career, kids, blah, blah, blah...), a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity led him to Singapore, where the passion for performing was reignited after stepping into the local comedy club. Since then, he has embraced and immersed himself so deep in Singaporean culture, locals refer to him as 'chocolate durian'. Similar to durian, DeeCee’s flavour of palatable comedy is enjoyed by many, but remains an ‘acquired taste’ for others.

DeeCee has performed in Canada, US, Malaysia, and headlined on various stages throughout Singapore and Bangkok. He currently continues to reach a global audience, via zoom AND the live stage, from his current home in Chicago. He recorded his first comedy album “Chocolate Durian” (on Spotify, iTunes & Amazon) in early 2020, just before Singapore was forced into lockdown due to COVID-19 while residing there.
